IVPC Naloxone Map Comms Campaign

In October 2026, the Injury and Violence Prevention Center at CU Anschutz launched a new resource: An interactive statewide map of locations where Coloradans could find naloxone for free or at cost. As IVPC's Communications Coordinator, I orchestrated the communications strategy for the launch. The comms strategy involved deploying content on a variety of channels and working with partners across campus to ensure a successful and wide-reaching launch of the map and other resources.

I was tasked with promoting two assets in this campaign: The map itself, for which the audience was quite broad; and a "how-to" toolkit created by the research team, aimed at other researchers and agencies who may want to create a similar map.

While I was not involved in the web development or coding of the map website, I consulted on the UX/UI of the site and the content of the pages.

Using content from the research team, I designed and published the "how-to" Save a Life Map Toolkit as a downloadable PDF.

The information about the map and the toolkit needed a place to live on the IVPC website, so I created a new page using Sitefinity to serve as a landing page for the project.

On LinkedIn, my strategy was simple: Promote the map and the toolkit as separate, but related resources. I tagged IVPC team members and other CU Anschutz organizations to improve reach, and created shareable graphics for each post rather than simply sharing links.

I also authored a news article for the IVPC website, a deep dive into the rationale behind the map and a place for quotes from researchers to live so that media could access them quickly.
